About Uploading

I don't know how many people read this, but I've stated that I would prefer if people didn't host my scanlations on websites such as mangafox, but I've been ignored as I see my scanlations popping up an hour after I release them.

I did say that if I wanted them up on the site, I would post them up myself, and I have done this a few times but most of the time someone else does it before I get there. I don't think I'm demanding anything unreasonable, it's not that hard to download 8mb of data from mediafire, there's no password or post count or anything. I admit that online readers are helpful when you want to read a series that's 10+ chapters long and would be a hassle to download, which is why I intended to upload my scanlations two or three days later. But on a new release, that's only one chapter. That doesn't take long at all, so there's really no reason why using an online reader is any trickier than just downloading the file directly.

That having been said, I'll be changing my policy now. Wait two days. Then you guys can go upload wherever you want. I'm going to try this, and see what happens. If I find my scanlations turning up as soon as I release them, then I'll be more strict, i.e. invited readers only and password protected files. Please don't make me do this. It may be selfish, but scanlating is a lot of work, and I'm spending my own time and money on this. You don't even need to comment, just dropping by is enough. I just don't want you to take scanlations for granted, which is kind of the feeling I get when I see some of the comments on mangafox. I think I'm going a little off topic here, but the point is JUST WAIT TWO DAYS BEFORE YOU GO UPLOADING MY SCANLATIONS TO ONLINE READERS.  I don't think it's unreasonable, you don't even need my permission to upload. Please be considerate.

And thanks to all the support that you guys have been giving me, it's great to know, and I really appreciate them. I'm not trying to be a jerk, it just makes me feel uncomfortable when I see me requests ignored like that.

Please don't take this rant the wrong way, I know there are heaps of great people out there, and the point of scanlation is to share the awesome manga around. (online readers are a good way to do this) but please, just follow this policy. Part of the reason for this post was also the fact that people were consistently ignoring my rules. Thank you guys so much.

And on an extra note, just realised that there are some missing pages in Love Sick ch3. I've temporarily removed the dl links as I fix those pages, and it'll be up soon today. Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion.

Edit: They're back up now. Here's the link again. :)

  1. *feels guilty* i always read almost all my manga on mangafox D: *sulks* but i'm starting to transition myself to reading on scandalors' site as they are more high quality (not to mention more respectful) :D also on mangareader since they post in high quality too (i think they respect scans more as they aren't like mangafox which depends on readers to upload chapters but i can't say :/)
    now some random blabble...
    i think people will (MAYBE) post on mangafox a bit less if you could somehow implement a online reader here but as for how that works i don't know...i for one don't like downloading on my computer as i find it annoying to read on windows picture view
    maybe you could ask http://manhwa.grumpyland.com/999/tower-of-god-ch17/ as they have one :/

  3. I don't think that implementing an online reader would be too meaningful. First of all, people who read Saffron's scanlations are just too lazy to come to this site & DL from here, instead, so they will be too lazy to get here to read it online HERE, as well. Moreover, why bother with that, it's not like they have to be granted a way to read it online, just because they are too lazy to download. o_O That sounds wrong in so many ways.

    Anyway, I hope people will read this and do that 2-day waiting before they go on an upload-frenzy. It's just sad that they don't even care about your request/policy, when you do all the hard work. ): Bleh, this makes me angry.

  5. @Mirage: Lol, don't worry about it. I use mangafox sometimes too when I'm reading long series (like Ouran, Nurarihyon, etc which would be insane to download so many chapters). I just don't like it when people ignore my rules. I don't know if I'll implement an online reader, because I'd need programming, and more bandwith space and a different layout that I'm not sure Blogspot would be able to provide. Thanks for dropping by though! :D
    @Akari: Yeah, I hope people listen. I know there are heaps of great people out there.
    @domi75: Your welcome, and thankyou. That's great to hear :D

  9. Thanks very much for the updated release.

    Truly hope people will abide by your rules. It's disheartening when just a few people choose to ignore the rules and their choice ends up ruining it for everyone else who obeys the rules. :(

    As far as online readers I actually detest them and download all my manga so I can read them on my computer. :lol:

  10. @faechilde: Thankyou! I hope so too, and I'm sure that the majority of the people out there are great. :)

  11. OHMYGOD I UNDERSTAND THE FEELING!!!!

    My request was as simple as informing me if they have plans of uploading it elsewhere but.... nobody listened. Ugh.

    Anywayz, I'll take note of your 2 days policy for Conductor ;D And will also make it password protected and stuff if idiots continue being such.

    @Mirage
    Mangareader respects scans? How could they be respecting scans if they're not removing licensed series =_=

  12. @Sapphire Pyro: Right, it can really piss you off when no one listens. :)
    Thanks about Conductor, and hopefully we won't have to make them password protected if everyone listens.

    @Mirage: Don't they? That sucks then :(

  13. I created a thread with the request to add a 2day waiting period for your releases on MangaFox, but since I'm not part of the Wasuretai, it'd be good if member of the team could post there as well.
